Wartburg cars were produced from 1955 till 1991 by the Automobilwerk Eisenach company at a factory located in the Eisenach city in the German Democratic Republic. Later the brand belonged to the German concern Industrieverband Fahrzeugbau (IFA). The products made by the enterprise were mostly sold in Hungary and Poland.
