Spare parts for your car
Mercedes-Benz cars became the best-selling premium-class vehicles in the world in 2018. The number of sold cars exceeded 2.31 million. The vehicles are produced by the German company Daimler AG, founded in 1926, but the history of these cars dates back to 1886, when German mechanical engineer Karl Benz produced and patented his first car. The company currently employs 19,000 researchers and developers. That is why the brand’s cars are the embodiment of cutting-edge technologies and innovations, and spare parts for Mercedes-Benz are the epitome of quality and reliability.
Technical specifications of Mercedes-Benz cars
The company has made many inventions essential for the development of the automotive industry. The brand was the first to equip its cars, particularly S-Class (W116) saloons, with anti-lock braking system, which is quite common nowadays. Moreover, the manufacturer was the first to use seat belt pretensioners, parking sensors and xenon lighting in production cars.
The company has also developed the world’s first vehicle voice control system – Linguatronic. Today many cars of the brand, including GLS-Class SUVs and A-Class hatchbacks, are equipped with it. One of the main advantages of this technology is that you don’t have to learn voice commands in advance: the system understands your hints. For instance, if you want to turn the climate control on, just say “I’m cold” and the air-conditioner will be activated automatically.
The Magic Body Control adaptive suspension system is an interesting and useful development as well. It’s installed on S-Class (W222) cars. The Magic Body Control consists of two independent systems: Road Surface Scan, which monitors the condition of the road surface with the help of a stereo camera, and Active Body Control, which adjusts the stiffness of shock absorbers in real-time mode. This means the vehicle’s suspension is properly adjusted even before the wheels come into contact with a certain section of road. This makes driving as smooth as possible.
Many Mercedes-Benz cars, including E-Class (W213) saloons and C-Class (W205) saloons and estate cars can impress with a head-up display. This lets the driver see key information without being distracted from the road. The virtual screen dimensions are 21x7 cm. The image is easy to distinguish: it seems to be floating above the bonnet at a distance of two meters from the driver's eyes. Image brightness is adjusted automatically in accordance with ambient lighting.
