Technical characteristics of Mercedes-Benz C-Class W203

The car had 4,526 mm length, 1,728 mm width and 1,426 mm height. Sportive modifications AMG were lower: their height was 1,415 mm. Volume of the luggage compartment was 455 litres. Ground clearance equaled 137 mm, and, after restyling in 2004, it varied in 150-160 mm range.

Main modifications

One of the most fuel-efficient and dynamic modifications was diesel C 320 CDI MT (224 hp) one. 6-cylinder V-type engine with Common Rail fuel injection and turbocharger with variable geometry was installed on it. Max torque was reached in 1,400—3,800 rpm range. Thanks to this, the saloon accelerated to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds, and its top speed was 246 km/h. Loading capacity of the modification was 480 kg. Rear-wheel drive promoted stability and maneuverability of the saloon, while 6-speed manual transmission contributed to perfect dynamics.

Trim levels of C-Class W203

C-Class W203 (2000‒2007) saloons were available in three main trim levels: Classic, Elegance and Avantgarde.

In basic configuration, Classic, the car was equipped with two front dual-stage airbags, two side airbags, and two curtain airbags; while side airbags for rear seats passengers were offered at extra charge. The multifunction steering wheel as well as steering column with height and tilt adjustment promoted comfortable driving. The central armrest with a spacious storage compartment inside allowed storing many small things. SpeedTronic system allowed to individually adjust the speed limiter. The tyre inflation compressor and Tirefit sealing compound were available in the luggage compartment instead of a spare wheel.
