Spares for AUDI: useful information
Audi cars belong to the luxury class and are produced by the world-renowned German car manufacturer Audi AG, which is part of the Volkswagen Group. The firm was founded by the German engineer August Horch in 1909. The headquarters is located in Ingolstadt, Germany. The company has more than 90,000 employees.
Technical specifications of Audi cars
The vehicles are equipped with high-performance engines. For instance, the TFSI V-type twin-turbo engine, with an output of 571 hp, is now installed on the S8 sports saloon. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h. Fuel consumption in the combined cycle is 11.4 litres of petrol per 100 km of travel. The V6 petrol engine installed in the A8 2019 saloon has an output of 340 hp. The vehicle reaches a speed of 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h. The car consumes 7.8 litres of fuel in the combined cycle.
The manufacturer has developed a highly efficient braking system. The modern S6 and S8 saloons are equipped with ceramic brake discs. These are resistant to high temperatures and are light, allowing reduction of the vehicle’s curb weight. These Audi parts are suitable for use at extreme speeds.
The Multimaterial Space Frame rigid carrying frame is integrated into the body of the 2019 A8 L model. It weighs less than the frames of similar cars of its class, as it is made of lightweight materials: aluminium and fibreglass.
The Quattro all-wheel drive with asymmetrical distribution of the torque due to a self-locking inter-axle differential is available for many cars. In standard operation, 60% of the torque is distributed to the rear axle and 40% to the front. The torque is redistributed in case of slippery or rough road surfaces. Higher torque is sent to whichever wheels have better road grip. Quattro was installed on A6/S6 saloons since 1995, the V8 (1988–1994), as well as Q7, Q8 crossovers and other models. The modern Q7 crossovers have the Torsen T3 limited-slip differential.
Safety systems include the branded automatic driving assist – AI Traffic Jam. This uses a laser scanner, a radar and ultrasonic sensors, a frontal camera, and the zFAS control module. It is used on the new A8 model, among others. The AI Remote Parking & Garage Pilot allows the driver to park the car remotely using the myAudi smartphone application. It can be found, for example, in the Q8 crossover. HD Matrix LED headlights reduce light intensity automatically when oncoming vehicles appear. They’re available for the Audi Q8 crossover and the A8/S8 saloon. The latter is also equipped with a night vision system.
