Technical specifications of Maybach cars
These cars had luxurious features. Even the base trim included a voice-controlled navigation system and 4-zone climate control. The cars had power seats with a massage function in front and rear. The vehicles were equipped with the Bose Surround Everywhere audio system with 21 speakers and remote closing doors. Extended trim levels of the Maybach 62S limousine (2002–2012) included 18-way adjustable rear seats. While the 62 Landaulet model (8 units of it were produced in 2009–2012) had a power divider window made of electrochromic smart glass, which separated the driver from the rear passenger compartment, and granite interior trim. There were carbon fibre elements in the interior of the 57S saloon which appeared on the market in 2005. The vehicles had impressive dimensions. For example, the length of the 57 W240 saloon was 5,700 mm, while that of the 62 V240 limousine – 6,200 mm.
The cars were equipped with powerful engines. The M285 V12 engine, produced by Mercedes-Benz, was installed on models 57 and 62. Its displacement was 5.5 litres, and it outputted 543 hp with 900 N·m of max torque. This power unit allowed model 57 saloon to accelerate to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds. Model 62 model needed 4.8 seconds for this. The 57S saloon, launched in 2005, was equipped with a 6-litre V12 twin-turbo power unit. Its output was 603 hp, max torque – 1000 N·m. The car accelerated to 100 km/h in less than 5 seconds.
The manufacturer used the Airmatic Dual Control pneumatic suspension, which analysed the state of the road surface every second and adjusted the shock absorber stiffness correspondingly. The manufacturer also installed the electro-hydraulic brake system Twin Sensotronic Brake Control. It ensured the safest deceleration and stopping.
Armoured cars, such as model 62 Guard, were also offered. This model was produced from 2009 to 2012 and had protective elements made of steel and Kevlar. With that, the armoured version was only 406 kg heavier than the standard one.
