The three-door five-seat Rover Mini hatchbacks were produced from 1991 to 2000 in Great Britain. The exterior was developed by British designer Alec Issigonis. The Rover Mini hatchback: specifications
The body was 3,050 mm long, 1,410 mm wide and 1,350 mm high. The ride height was 150 mm. The luggage compartment volume was 120 l. The maximum load capacity didn’t exceed 430 kg.
The front axle of the car was equipped with brake discs. The rear axle was fitted with drum brakes.
Main versions
They produced eleven front-wheel drive versions of the Rover Mini hatchbacks. They all ran on petrol.
One of the most efficient models was 1.0 MT. It was equipped with a 4-cylinder, 8-valve straight engine with a carbureted fuel system. The power unit produced 41 hp with the maximum torque of 68 N·m at 2,500 RPM. The fuel consumption per 100 km was 6.9 l in the urban cycle, 4.7 l in the extra-urban cycle and 6.1 l in the combined cycle. The top speed of the car reached 129 kph. It accelerated from 0 to 100 kph in 17 seconds.
Mini hatchback trim levels
Apart from the base one, there were such extended trim levels as Monte Carlo, Paul Smith LE, Grand Prix, 40 LE, John Cooper LE, Cooper, Cooper Sport, Cooper Sport 500. The factory-installed equipment of the Mini hatchbacks (1991–2000) included a car alarm, the driver's airbag. The metallic body colour was available for these cars. Completely or partially leather-trimmed seats were optional.
The extended Cooper Sport trim offered alloy wheels and front fog lights.
