MAZDA parts: useful information for the right choice and buy
Mazda cars have been produced by the Mazda Motor Japanese corporation since 1920. The company founder is Jujiro Matsuda. In 2015 the company entered the world’s Top 15 enterprises by the production output, with the number of annually sold vehicles exceeding 1 million. Nowadays the company’s staff is about 39,000 employees. The cars are popular because of their unique design created in accordance with the “Kodo: Soul of Motion” philosophy, and a number of cutting-edge technologies aimed at maximum driving pleasure.
Technical specifications of Mazdacars
Before 2012 the company had successfully used Wankel rotary engines; they are compact, easy in maintenance, and are characterized by low vibration level. Their output ranged from 220 to 350 hp. The manufacturer equipped about 20 models with these engines, starting with the Cosmo Sport coupe. In 1986, the engineers succeeded in accelerating the Savanna RX-7 coupe with a rotary engine to 383,7 km/h, which was the record figure for that time.
The line-up of naturally-aspirated Skyactiv-X IC engines is characterized by high performance and low fuel consumption. This was achieved due to high compression ratio (14) and the use of the Spark Plug Controlled Compression Ignition technology. It combines compression and spark ignition, which ensures more complete fuel combustion and low level of hazardous emissions. Today the 3 BP and 6 GL saloons as well as the CX-5 KF crossover are equipped with such power units.
Stability on the road and perfect traction of Mazda cars are the result of operation of the i-ACTIV all-wheel drive. It uses 27 sensors which are constantly analyzing the road surface condition. Engaging and disengaging of the all-wheel drive are performed automatically. i-ACTIV is installed on the CX-5 KF and the second generation of the CX-9 crossovers.
The G-Vectoring Control system adjusts the engine torque and the braking system operation, by analyzing the steering wheel turning angle. As a result, maneuvering is performed with maximum road grip. Particularly, this technology is implemented in the CX-5 KF crossover.
The MZD Connect multimedia system with a 7-inch screen informs the driver about the road situation in online mode, and promptly corrects the route. The system can be controlled by tapping the screen or with the help of voice commands. It is installed on the Mazda 6 GL saloon and the CX-5 KF crossover.
In 2018 the 6 saloon got the highest 5 star rating in Euro NCAP safety tests, largely thanks to the use of the i-ACTIVSENSE technology. It includes the Smart City Brake system, which detects obstacles within up to 6 metres with the help of an infra-red sensor. In case of dangerous proximity it increases the pressure in the brake system to ease emergency braking. If the driver doesn’t react, the assist engages the brakes automatically. Apart from this, i-ACTIVSENSE includes the Lane Departure Warning system (LDW) and the Lane Keep Assist which automatically adjusts the vehicle’s path.
