Technical specifications of Mazda 3 (BL) hatchback
The car’s dimensions remained the same during the whole manufacturing period. The body length was 4,460 mm, the width – 1,755 mm, the height – 1,470 mm. The road clearance was 155 mm. The volume of the luggage compartment was 340 litres and reached 1,360 litres with the rear seats folded. Initially, the max loading capacity was 590 kg, but was reduced to 527 kg after the restyling.
Main versions
More than 10 front-wheel driven versions of the 3 (2009–2013) hatchback were offered. They included both petrol and diesel ones.
The 2.0 DISI MT was one of the most popular versions. It was equipped with a 4-cylinder 16-valve in-line petrol engine with direct fuel injection. The power unit was characterized by 150 hp output and 191 Nm of the max torque reached at 4,500 rpm. This car was equipped with a Start-Stop system which shuts down the engine when the car is stationary.
For covering 100 km, the 2.0 DISI MT car consumed 9.1 litres of fuel in urban cycle, 5.3 litres – in extra-urban cycle, and 6.7 litres – in combined cycle. The top speed was 206 km/h, and acceleration to 100 km/h took 10.4 seconds.
Trim levels of 3 (BL) hatchback
The following trim levels were popular: S, TS, TS2, Tamura, Takuya, TS 2 NAV, Sport, Sport NAV, Venture Edition, Direct, Touring, Touring Plus, Impuls Line. The Touring Plus trim included electric power steering, power windows, headlights washers, power mirrors with auto dimming, the central lock and an immobilizer. The interior was provided with the climate control, heated seats, an audio system with CD and MP3 support. Also, the car had front and side airbags. Moreover, the cars were equipped with an ABS, stability control (ESP) and brake force distribution (EBD) systems. The wheel rims were of light alloy, and the door handles and mouldings were painted in the body colour.
