The Rover Streetwise: specifications
The dimensions of both three- and five-door car bodies were the following: length – 3,980 mm, width – 1,950 mm, height – 1,500 mm. The ride height was 167 mm. The volume of luggage compartment reached 305 l and could be increased up to 1090 l with rear seats folded.
The front suspension of the cars was independent while the rear one was semi-dependent. The front axle was fitted with ventilated brake discs. Depending on the version, the rear axle was equipped either with non-ventilated discs or drum brakes.
Main versions
The Rover Streetwise cars were available in five front-wheel-drive versions. Except for one diesel version, all these cars ran on petrol.
The diesel version 2.0 D МТ was the most efficient. It was equipped with a 4-cylinder straight engine with a turbocharger. The power unit produced 101 hp with a maximum torque of 240 N·m at 2,000 RPM. The top speed of the car reached 185 kph. It accelerated from 0 to 100 kph in 9.8 seconds. To cover the distance of 100 km, the vehicle consumed 6.9 l of fuel in the urban cycle, 4.1 l in the extra-urban cycle and 5.1 l in the combined cycle.
Streetwise trim levels
The manufacturer offered a base trim and several extended ones such as GLi, Olympic, S, GSi, SE. The factory-installed equipment of the Rover Streetwise hatchbacks (2003–2005) included ABS and emergency brake assist (BAS), front airbags. There were front power windows, a car alarm, a roof rack and adjustable steering wheel. Rear parking sensors, a leather interior as well as sports seats were available for an extra charge.
The GSi trim level included air conditioning, leather seats, front fog lights, parking sensors, a sound system with remote control and a CD player. The cars had heated power side mirrors.
