The Rover 200 (RF): specifications
The length of the body was 3,973 mm, the width was 1,688 mm and the height was 1,419 mm. The ride height was limited to 120 mm. The luggage compartment volume was 304 l and could be increased up to 1,086 l with the rear seats folded.
The front axle of the vehicle was fitted with ventilated brake discs. Depending on the version, the rear axle was equipped either with non-ventilated discs or drum brakes. The front suspension was independent while the rear one – semi-independent.
Main versions
There were about 10 front-wheel-drive versions of the Rover 200 (RF). The manufacturer offered both petrol and diesel cars.
220 MT SDi, a diesel version, was characterised by fuel efficiency. It was equipped with a 4-cylinder 8-valve inline engine with a direct fuel injection system. The output of the two-litre engine was 105 hp. The maximum torque was 210 N·m at 2,000 RPM. The top speed of the car reached 185 kph. It accelerated from 0 to 100 kph in 10 seconds. To cover the distance of 100 km, the hatchback consumed 5 l of fuel in the combined cycle, 6l in the urban cycle, 4l in the extra-urban cycle.
200 (RF): trim levels
The manufacturer offered a base trim of the Rover 200 hatchbacks (RF; 1995–2000) and several extended ones, for example, Special Edition, Si, SEi, SE, iL, iE, S, iS, Vi, SLi, GSi, BRM LE. The factory-installed equipment of the cars included a car alarm, a driver’s airbag, adjustable steering column and power side mirrors. Front power windows were available for an extra charge.
The GSi trim level included a power sunroof, an audio system with a CD changer as well as a leather interior. Apart from that, the cars had front power windows and heated side mirrors.
