The Porsche 944 convertible: specifications
The dimensions of the car were the following: length – 4,230 mm, width – 1,735 mm, height – 1,275 mm. The maximum load capacity was 340 kg. The luggage compartment volume reached 250 l.
Both axles of the car were equipped with ventilated brake discs. The vehicle had pop-up headlights.
Main versions
The Porsche 944 convertibles (1988–1991) were available in two petrol rear-wheel drive versions.
The 3.0 MT version was equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission and 4-cylinder, 16-valve straight DOHC engine with multi-point fuel injection system. The power unit produced 211 hp, its maximum torque was 280 N·m at 4,000 rpm. The top speed of the car reached 240 kph. It accelerated from 0 to 100 kph in 7.1 seconds. To cover the distance of 100 km, the car consumed 10.3 l of petrol in the combined cycle.
The Porsche 944 convertible: trim levels
Apart from the base trim, there were several extended ones such as S, S2, Turbo, Turbo S. The S2 trim included central locking system, keyless ignition system, hydraulic power steering, alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, front fog lights. They had power windows and electric heated side mirrors as well.
