The Porsche Cayman (987): specifications
The coupe was 4,341 mm long, 1,801 mm wide and 1,305 mm high. The ground clearance varied between 126 and 130 mm. The maximum load capacity of the car was 245 kg. The volume of luggage compartment reached 410 l.
The car was equipped with independent coil spring suspensions. Some models had the PASM — variable shock absorbers system. Both axles were fitted with ventilated brake discs.
Main versions
The manufacturer produced six rear-wheel-drive versions of the Porsche Cayman (987; 2005–2013). They all were petrol and had a mid-engine layout.
The 2.9 AT was the most popular. It was equipped with a 6-cylinder 24-valve DOHC boxer engine. It produced 265 hp, its maximum torque was 300 N·m at 6,000 rpm. Apart from the base trim, there were several extended ones; for example, S, S Design Edition, R, S Sport, Black Edition. The base trim of the Porsche Cayman (987) included a car alarm, alloy wheels, front fog lights as well as a traction control system. All cars were equipped with front and side airbags. They had power windows and electric heated door mirrors. The steering column was depth- and tilt-adjustable.
The extended trim S Sport offered air conditioning. The sports seats were partially trimmed with leather.
