The Porsche Boxster (986): specifications
Before the facelift, the car had the following dimensions: length – 4,315 mm, width – 1,780 mm, height – 1,290 mm. The volume of the luggage compartment was 260 l. The maximum load capacity of the car was 310 kg. The length of the facelifted car was 4,320 mm. Other parameters remained unchanged. Both axles of the car were equipped with ventilated brake discs.
Main versions
The Porsche Boxster roadsters (986) were available in seven petrol versions. All of them had a front-wheel drive.
S 3.2 Tiptronic was very popular. It was equipped with a 6-cylinder 24-valve boxer engine with multipoint fuel injection system. The power unit produced 253 hp with the maximum torque of 306 N·m at 4,500 rpm. The fuel consumption per 100 km was 17.2 l in the urban cycle, 8.2 l in the extra-urban cycle and 11.3 l in the combined cycle. The maximum speed of the vehicle reached 254 kph. It accelerated from 0 to 100 kph in 6.5 seconds.
Boxster (986): trim levels
Apart from the base trim, the manufacturer offered several extended ones, such as S Anniversary Edition, S 260, S. Factory-installed equipment of all roadsters included an anti-lock braking system, alloy wheels, front airbags. There were electric heated side mirrors and power windows as well.
The S 260 trim level offered air conditioning, power seats, a sound system with a CD player, side airbags. Sports seats were trimmed with leather.
