The Porsche Boxster roadster (981): specifications
Depending on the version, the length of the body varied from 4374 to 4404 mm, and the height – from 1273 to 1282 mm. Its width was 1,801 mm. The luggage compartment volume was 130–280 l. The maximum allowable load capacity of the car didn’t exceed 310 kg.
Both axles of the car were equipped with ventilated brake discs. Their suspensions were independent: front – of MacPherson type, rear – of the multi-link type.
Main versions
There were six petrol versions of the Porsche Boxster roadster (981). They had a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive layout.
The 3.4 PDK version with a semi-automatic transmission and a dual-clutch system was very popular. The vehicle was equipped with a 6-cylinder, 24-valve boxer engine with a direct fuel injection system. The power unit produced 330 hp, its maximum torque was 370 N·m at 4,500 rpm. The maximum speed of the vehicle reached 281 kph. The car accelerated from 0 to 100 kph in 5 seconds. To cover the distance of 100 km, it consumed 12.7 l of fuel in the urban cycle, 7.1 l in the extra-urban cycle and 9 l in the combined cycle.
Boxster roadsters (981): trim levels
Apart from the base trim, the manufacturer offered several extended ones such as S, Black Edition, Spyder, GTS. All Porsche Boxster roadsters (981; 2012–2016) were factory-equipped with a traction control system and ABS, alloy wheels, a car alarm, sound system with a CD player, front airbags. There were adjustable steering wheel, power windows and electric heated door mirrors as well. Sports seats were trimmed with leather. The PTV system, a brand system for enhancing driving dynamics and stability, was available as an optional extra.
The Black Edition trim included cruise control, front fog lights, headlight washers, parking sensors. There was also a satnav and side airbags. Air conditioning was available for an extra charge.
