The Saab 9000 saloons: specifications
The Saab 9000 saloons were 4780 mm long, 1764 mm wide and 1420 mm high. The luggage compartment volume was 556 l. The ride height was 150 mm.
After the 1993 facelift, the dimensions of the car slightly changed: they became 4794 long, 1778 mm wide and 1420 high.
The front suspension was independent, of the MacPherson type. The rear suspension was semi-independent. They ensured excellent steerability and also increased the stability of the car while manoeuvring at high speeds.
Main versions
There were about 10 versions of the Saab 9000 saloons made. They all ran on petrol. The torque was transmitted from the engine to the front axle. Customers could choose between a 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmissions.
One of the most popular versions was the 2.0 LPT МТ model. It was fitted with an engine equipped with 4 cylinders and 16 valves which produced 150 hp. It worked together with a light-pressure turbocharger, due to which its maximum torque of 215 N·м could be achieved at 2500 rpm. It took the saloon 9.5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 kph. Its maximum speed reached 210 kph. The fuel consumption per 100 km was 13.6 l in the urban cycle, 7.8 l in the extra-urban cycle and 9.9 l in the combined cycle. The load capacity of the version reached 595 kg.
9000 cars: trim levels
Depending on the market and the year of production, the Saab 9000 saloons were available in the following trim packages: CD, CDE and Griffin.
The Griffin trim level was focused on comfort. There were power front and rear windows, power sunroof and side mirrors. Power heated leather seats had memory function and were fitted with head restraints. The screen of the onboard computer displayed the information about fuel consumption, battery charge, icy road warning, etc. Fog lights, alloy wheel rims, tinted windows, a tachometer and a sound system were factory-installed.
