SAAB 9-3 Estate (YS3F) cars: technical specifications, versions and trim levels
The Saab 9-3 estate cars (YS3F) are five-door compact executive cars which were produced from 2005 to 2015. They debuted at the Geneva Motor Show. The Saab 9-3 (YS3F) estate cars: specifications
The Saab 9-3 estate cars (YS3F) were 4654 mm long, 1762 mm wide and 1492 mm high. They had a spacious interior. The vehicle could accommodate a driver and four passengers with comfort. The volume of luggage compartment was 419 liters. It could be increased up to 1273 litres with the rear seats folded. The road clearance reached 140 mm.
Both suspensions were independent: front – of MacPherson type, rear – of a multi-link type. Due to the front and rear anti-roll bars, designers managed to achieve a balanced combination of steerability and comfort. All wheels were fitted with brake discs.
Main versions
There were over 30 versions of the Saab 9-3 estate cars (2005–2015). There were models which ran on diesel, petrol as well as on bioethanol. As a rule, they had a front-wheel drive. However, the lineup also offered all-wheel-drive versions. There was a wide choice of gearboxes. The most common were 5- and 6-speed manual as well as a 5-speed and sequential automatic transmissions.
The petrol 1.8i МТ version was characterised by balanced performance. Its 4-cylinder 16-valve engine could produce 122 hp and had the torque of 167 N·m. The car accelerated from 0 to 100 kph in 11.5 sec. Its maximum speed reached 200 kph. To cover the distance of 100 km, the vehicle consumed 10.7 litres of fuel in the urban area, 7.9 litres in the combined cycle and 6.2 litres in the extra-urban cycle. The maximum load capacity was 572 kg.
9-3 (YS3F) cars trim levels
There was a great number of trim levels offered for the Saab 9-3 estate cars (YS3F); the most popular among them were Vector, Arc, Linear, Sport, Business, Aero, Intro, Exklusiv, Norden.
The Linear trim included front and rear power windows, a central locking system, power steering, cruise control and climate control, an anti-lock braking system with brakeforce distribution, an electronic stability programme and traction control system, front and side airbags as well as curtain airbags. The car seats were equipped with active head restraints. The list of optional extras was quite long and included front and rear parking sensors, an audio system with a CD changer and 9 speakers, a sat nav with a full colour LED display, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, rain sensor, heated rear and front seats. Front seats could be ventilated.
