The Saab 9-7X cars are five-seat SUVs which were produced from 2004 to 2009. They were officially presented at the New York Motor Show. The Saab 9-7X: specifications
The Saab 9-7X cars had significant dimensions: they were 4808 mm long, 1917 mm wide and 1739 mm high. They had a very spacious interior. Their luggage compartment was huge: depending on the position of the rear seats, its volume varied from 1127 to 2268 litres. The road clearance reached 195 mm.
The vehicles had an independent double A-arm front suspension and independent multi-link rear air suspension with electronic stiffness control. This allowed to balance steerability, stability and comfort.
Both axles of the SUV were fitted with brake discs.
Main versions
There were 3 versions of the Saab 9-7X produced. They were equipped with petrol engines of different displacement and power and with a four-speed automatic transmission. They all had an all-wheel drive. As a rule, the rear axle was the leading one. Front wheels were automatically engaged when required.
These SUVs featured excellent performance and good traction characteristics. The 5.3 V8 version could boast its 8-cylinder 16-valve 300 hp engine. It produced the maximum torque of 447 N⋅m. The latter could be achieved at 4000 rpm. The SUV accelerated from 0 to 100 kph in 7.8 sec and its maximum speed reached 190 kph. Fuel consumption per 100 km was 20.7 litres in the urban cycle,12.5 litres in the extra-urban cycle,15.5 litres in the combined cycle. The load capacity was 709 kg.
Saab 9-7X: trim levels
The Saab 9-7X SUVs had a rich set of equipment. The base trim depended on the engine type. Aero series offered its own list of equipment.
The 5.3 versions were fitted with an anti-lock braking system with brake force distribution, electronic stability programme and traction control system, locking differential, front, side and head airbags, dual-zone climate control, etc. The front power seats were height-adjustable and had memory function. A sound system with Bose speakers and CD changer as well as XM and OnStar satellite radios were available as standard equipment. There was an adjustable pedal box. A sat nav was available as an optional extra. A DVD player for the rear seat passengers was available for an extra fee.
