Technical specifications of Opel Combo B 71_
The length of Opel Combo B 71_ panel van was 4,230 mm, width – 1,686 mm, height – 1,805 mm. Ground clearance was 160 mm. The cargo compartment capacity reached 3.13 m3. A regular door with two leaves provided the access to it. It could be opened at an angle of 90° or 180°. The cargo compartment floor was flat, and the front passenger seat had a folding back to make loading more comfortable.
The car was a 2-seater. The front suspension was independent, the rear one – dependent with leaf springs or semi-independent with coil springs. Most often, only the front axle had brake discs.
The Combo Tour minivan was released in 1995. It featured side windows in the rear part of the car and a folding bench seat for three passengers in the cargo compartment.
Main versions
Both diesel and petrol versions of Opel Combo 71_ (1993–2001) were offered to customers. The 1.7 D was among the most fuel-efficient versions. It had a 4-cylinder 8-valve 60 hp engine with the torque of 109 N⋅m. Turbocharging and direct fuel injection system promoted efficient fuel consumption. The van consumed 5.4 litres per 100 km of travel in extra-urban cycle, 7.4 litres – in urban cycle. But its dynamics was worse than that of other versions: 0 to 100 km/h acceleration took 20 long seconds and its top speed didn’t exceed 142 km/h. The loading capacity of this version equalled 545 kg.
Trim levels of Combo B 71_
The list of standard equipment for Combo B 71_ was largely defined by the utilitarian specifics of the van and was quite short. Nonetheless, the driver seat was height-adjustable, and the dashboard was ergonomic. Two front airbags and seat belts with pretensioners ensured driving safety. The anti-lock braking system was also fitted as standard.
