Technical specifications of Mercedes-Benz C124
The length, width and height of Mercedes-Benz C124 (1987–1996) were 4,655 mm, 1,740 mm and 1,395 mm correspondingly. The road clearance was 160 mm. The luggage compartment volume didn’t exceed 481 litres. 4 people could be comfortably seated in the passenger compartment. The front axle of the vehicle was equipped with ventilated brake discs - more resistant to overheating than standard ones, which guaranteed efficient braking even in extreme situations.
Main versions
The C124 coupe was produced in 32 versions. 24 were produced before the 1993’s restyling, 8 – after it.
The most powerful and dynamic version was the E36 designed in cooperation with AMG. Its 272 hp engine accelerated the car to 100 km/h in 7 seconds. The car maximum speed was 250 km/h. Urban fuel consumption was 13.4 litres per 100 km, combined – 10.4 litres, extra-urban – 8.5 litres.
The road clearance of this version was lower than that of other coupes of this series, and was only 135 mm. The payload capacity was 440 kg. Ventilated brake discs were installed on both axles of the vehicle. Moreover, the AMG’s version could boast low-profile 17-inch tyres.
C124 trim levels
Depending on the version, the standard equipment could include the anti-lock braking system with electronic brake force distribution, front and rear power windows, front airbags, heated power mirrors, air conditioner, fog lights and other equipment. Among additional options there were: electric adjustment and heating of the front seats, roof hatch, CD-changer, cruise control, etc.
