Technical specifications of Mazda 626 V (GF) saloon
The body length was 4,575 mm, the width – 1,710 mm, and the height – 1,430 mm. The volume of the luggage compartment was 500 litres. The loading capacity was not more than 420 kg. The road clearance was 160 mm.
The front and rear suspensions were independent, multilink. Ventilated brake discs were mounted on the front axle, non-ventilated – on the rear.

The 2.0 MT petrol version was considered the most powerful. It was equipped with a 136 hp power unit. The max torque was 178 Nm at 4,500 rpm. Trim levels of 626 V (GF) saloon
The manufacturer offered a few trim levels: LX, GLX, GT and others. After the restyling in 1999, new trims appeared on the market: Comfort, Spirit, Exclusive, and Sportive.
All the cars had front power windows and power mirrors. The steering column could be adjusted by height. The cars were factory-equipped with an ABS and four airbags. Some extended trim levels also had climate control, an anti-lock braking system and the trip computer. Available for the GT trim was the 4WS technology which ensured rear wheels steering to improve the car stability.
All the restyled cars got a leather-trimmed steering wheel. An air conditioner appeared in the Comfort trim of the 626 (1997–2002) saloons. The Sportive trim level was completed with cruise and climate control, as well as a power sunroof. The gearshift lever and the central parts of the seats were trimmed with leather.
