The Honda Prelude III (the BA): specifications
The dimensions of the coupe remained the same throughout the production run. They were 4,510 mm long, 1,695 mm wide and 1,295 mm high. The maximum load capacity of the car was 470 kg. The boot capacity reached 380 l.
Independent suspension was mounted on both axles of the vehicle. The front axle was equipped with ventilated brake discs and the rear one – with solid ones.
Main versions
The Honda Prelude III cars (1987–1991) were available in 10 petrol versions. The coupe could be equipped either with a front-wheel or all-wheel drive.
One of the most popular versions among them was the front-wheel-drive 2.0i MT model. It was equipped with a 4-cylinder, 16-valve straight petrol engine with multi-point fuel injection. The power unit produced 150 hp with the maximum torque of 180 N·m at 5,500 rpm. To cover the distance of 100 km in the mixed cycle, the vehicle consumed 8.8 l. The maximum speed of the car reached 212 kph. It accelerated from 0 to 100 kph in 7.9 seconds.
Prelude III (the BA) trim levels
The manufacturer offered several kinds of trims. They included S, EX, INX, SR, Si, SR ALB, JDM, EDM, Si States, Si TCV.
The extended EX trim offered an electric sunroof, steering wheel adjustment and an audio system. Rear seats could be folded down. There was also a central locking system and power steering. Starting from 1989, INX and Si trims included ABS and traction control.
