The Honda Civic VIII hatchbacks (the FN, FK) are three- and five-door cars which were produced from 2005 till 2011. The concept car was introduced in 2005 at the Geneva Motor Show. The Honda Civic VIII hatchbacks (the FN, FK): specifications
The length of a three-door car body was 4,250 mm, its width was 1,760 mm and its height varied in the range between 1445 mm and 1460 mm depending on the version. The ride height was 140 mm. The maximum load capacity reached 362–584 kg.
A five-door Honda Civic VIII hatchback was 15 mm higher. It had the same length and width as a three-door car. The ride height was 150 mm, and the maximum load capacity was 510 kg. The boot capacity of both three-door and five-door versions reached 485 l and with the rear seats folded, it increased up to 1,362 l.
After the first facelift, the body of a three-door car became 25 mm longer and a five-door version – 5 mm longer. The width varied in the range between 1760 and 1785 mm and the ride height – between 125 and 150 mm. The maximum load capacity decreased up to 493 kg. Other parameters remained the same.
The front axle was equipped with ventilated brake discs. The rear one – with solid components.
Main versions
The Honda Civic VIII hatchbacks (the FN, FK) were offered in 7 front-wheel-drive versions. There were both petrol and diesel ones.
One of the most popular cars is a diesel 2.2 CDTi MT with a front-wheel drive. It was equipped with a 4-cylinder, 16-valve straight engine with a turbocharger and Common Rail system. The engine power was 140 hp, its maximum torque was 340 Н·м at the 2,000 rpm. The maximum speed of the car reached 205 kph. It accelerated from 0 to 100 kph in 8.6 seconds. The fuel consumption of the vehicle was 6.6 l in an urban area, 4.3 l on a highway and 5.1 l in the mixed cycle per 100 km.
Civic VIII (the FN, FK) hatchbacks trim levels
Apart from the “base” trim, there were extended ones. They included S, Sport, Si, SE-T, ES, ES-T, ES GT, SE+, LE, Ci-T, SE, SE-Ti, EX, Si-T, EX GT, Type S GT, Type S GT-T, Ci, Type S-T, Comfort, Executive. Standard equipment of the Honda Civic VIII (2005–2011) hatchbacks included ABS, traction control, front and side airbags, heated power side mirrors, front power windows.
