Pipes / hoses for
Hoses failures
- component cracks;
- clamps are loosened;
- the part is bent;
- hose dislocated;
- junction pipe is damaged;
- the component is clogged;
- the part is broken.
Signs of hoses failures
- air conditioning/cooling/heating system operates erratically;
- braking system function incorrectly;
- fluid leakage traces;
- strange smell in the passenger compartment.
Causes of hoses failures
- component wear-out;
- the hose is soiled;
- impact of water and chemicals on the component;
- system element abuse;
- low-quality hoses are installed;
- thermal impact on the part;
- disregard of recommendation and rules on car operation.
Diagnostics of hoses
First of all it is recommended to examine components in case if the described signs of hoses failures are found. If they cracked, displaced or there are drips on their surface, immediately address the service station specialists who will perform diagnostics of hoses with the help of special equipment. However, it is necessary to make the regular check of components to avoid serious breakages. So, it is recommended to diagnose hoses of the cooling system every 30000 operational kilometers, and brake hoses — every 50000 operational kilometers.
Repair of hoses
Sometimes repair is capable to repair hoses failures. Installation of patches is performed at the most service stations. Special glue compositions are used for this purpose. If the part became soiled, technicians clean it. But it is more efficient to replace hoses, because this component is relatively cheap.
Replacement of hoses
Lifetime of rubberized components is 125000 operational kilometers. Technical condition of parts do not influence necessity of their replacement. To change the hoses, do the following:
- drain liquid flowing through hose;
- loosen fixations;
- lift the component edge carefully not to damage it;
- if it is impossible to remove the component, it is necessary to cut off the hose in the area of the clamp impression;
- remove the component;
- install a properly functioning hose;
- attach the clamp;
- fill system with fluid;
- make sure that the new hose does not leak.
