The SEAT Toledo I (1L) is a small 5-door liftback that was produced in Spain between 1991 and 1999. It was the first SEAT car developed under Volkswagen AG ownership. SEAT Toledo I (1L) technical specifications
SEAT Toledo I (1L) cars were 4321 mm long, 1662 mm wide and 1424 mm high. Their cabin had fivee seats. Depending on a rear seats configuration, the boot capacity varied from 550–1360 litres. The large rear door and wide opening made loading easier.
The front suspension was independent; the rear semi-independent. Brake discs were installed on the front vehicle axle only. The rear axle was typically equipped with drums.

20 versions of the SEAT Toledo I (1L) were produced during the manufacturing period: 8 petrol and 2 diesel before restyling in 1995, and 6 petrol and 4 diesel afterward. All were front-wheel drive.
The 2.0 AT (115 hp) petrol version had a well-balanced driving performance. It was equipped with a 4-cylinder 8-valve engine with port fuel injection, and had a maximum torque of 160 N⋅m, reached at 2600 rpm. Acceleration to 100 km/h took 11.4 seconds. The top speed was 182 km/h. Fuel consumption in the extra-urban cycle was 7.2 litres per 100 km, 9 litres in the combined cycle and 12.3 litres in the urban cycle. The maximum loading capacity of the liftback was 365 kg. This version was equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission. Brake discs were installed on the front and rear axles.
Toledo I (1L) trim levels
SEAT Toledo I (1L) cars were offered in the following trim levels: CL, GL, GLX, GT, Sport and Sport 2000. Limited series were also produced. For instance, 2,000 Olympic edition cars were produced in 1992 to service the XXV Olympic Games in Barcelona.
The liftback with SXE trim was equipped with driver and passenger airbags, height-adjustable driver’s seat, rear headrests, a trip computer, alloy wheel rims, heated electric wing mirrors, fog lights, tinted windows, front and rear electric windows, power steering, and remote central locking. Sunroof, air-conditioning and metallic paint were optional extras.
