Main versions
More than 20 versions of Seat Altea (5P5, 5P8) MPVs were produced during the manufacturing period. The XL cars were available with front-wheel drive only. The Freetrack could be front- or all-wheel drive.
The FreeTrack 2.0 TDi 4WD diesel version (170 hp) provided well-balanced performance. It was equipped with a 4-cylinder 16-valve engine with 350 N⋅m torque, a turbocharger and intercooler, and a fuel injection system with unit injectors. Acceleration was 0-100 km/h in 8.7 seconds. The top speed was 202 km/h. Fuel consumption was 8.5 litres per 100 km in the urban cycle, 6.8 litres in the combined cycle, and 5.7 litres in the extra urban cycle. The maximum loading capacity of this version was 645 kg.
The all-wheel drive had an electronically-controlled Haldex coupling, which engaged the rear axle automatically if the front one was skidding.
XL (5P5)/FreeTrack (5P8) trim levels
The following trim levels were available for these MPVs: Stylance, Essence, Reference, Reference Sport, Sport, FR, Businessline, Sport-up, Active Style, Businessline High, and Clubstyle. The FreeTrack model had its own features.
These included climate- and cruise-control, an 8-speaker audio system, 7-inch LCD multimedia display, trip computer, rear central armrest, rain and light sensors, folding tables on the front seat backs, front and side airbags, front and rear curtain airbags, stability and traction control systems, and a multifunction steering wheel.
