Technical characteristics of Renault Master II (ED/HD/UD)
Renault Master II (ED/HD/UD) chassis cabs and flatbed trucks, as well as vans, were produced with various lengths. It could be 4869 mm, 5369 mm, 5869 mm. Width was 1990 mm, height – 2194 mm. The cabin had 3 seats. The cargo platform could also be 3304 mm, 3774 mm or 4304 mm long.
Flatbed trucks were available with a double cab. Their length could be 5494 mm or 5994 mm. Height was 2368 mm. Thus, the length of the cargo platform was 2410 mm or 2910 mm correspondingly. The cabin could accommodate a driver and six passengers.
The front suspension was independent, MacPherson type, the rear one – dependent with leaf springs. After the restyling in 2003, brake discs were installed not on the front wheels only, but on the rear wheels as well.
Main versions
About 30 versions of Renault Master II (ED/HD/UD) were produced over the years. All of them were front-wheel-drive and equipped with diesel power units, which operated together with a 6-speed manual transmission or 6-speed automated manual transmission Quickshift.
The 2.5 dCi Quickshift version was among the most demanded. It was equipped with a 4-cylinder 16-valve turbocharged engine with Common Rail fuel injection system. Engine power output was 150 hp. The torque equalled 320 N⋅m. The loading capacity of the car reached 1845 kg.
Trim levels of Master II (ED/HD/UD)
Flatbed trucks and chassis cabs could be equipped with anti-lock braking system with electronic brake force distribution, braking assist, hydraulic power steering, front and side airbags, air conditioner, seats with height-adjustable headrests. Usually, the side mirrors were manually-adjusted, but power mirrors were available as a paid option. The seats had fabric upholstery. The cabin had cup holders and numerous niches and containers for storing the essentials.
