RENAULT Clio II Hatchback (BB, CB) cars: technical specifications, versions and trim levels
Renault Clio II cars are 3- and 5-door hatchbacks produced in Europe in 1998–2012. Their development started back in 1991 – only a year after the first generation was released. For purposes of weight reduction, many body parts were made of innovative materials, for instance, the fenders – of plastics, the bonnet – of aluminium. As a result, some versions weighed less than a ton. At the same time, this didn’t worsen body rigidity: the hatchback got 4 stars for safety in Euro NCAP testing in 2000. In our online shop, you will find a vast range of components for these and other cars. Experienced specialists, who are ready to help you choose spare parts, are waiting for you here, as well as various special offers, which allow you to buy spare parts for Renault Clio II on a budget.
Technical characteristics of Renault Clio II
Depending on the production year, car length could be from 3,773 to 3,811 mm, width – 1,639 mm, height – between 1,409 and 1,417 mm. Road clearance reached 120 mm. The capacity of the luggage compartment equalled 255–1037 litres depending on whether the rear seats were folded. A driver and four passengers were able to seat in the car with comfort.
Both suspensions were independent: the front one – of the MacPherson type, the rear one – with double wishbones. Brake discs were installed on the front axle of the hatchbacks. Depending on the version, the rear axle had either discs or drums.
Main versions
43 versions of Renault Clio II were produced overall: 19 of them were 5-door, 24 – 3-door. Most of them had front-wheel drive.
The 3.0 T MT V6 Sport version demonstrated excellent dynamics and performance. It had a 6-cylinder 24-valve engine outputting 226 hp and delivering the torque of 300 N⋅m. The engine was mounted behind the front seats which allowed to improve dynamics. The car had rear-wheel drive. Turbocharger and intercooler promoted outstanding acceleration. 0 to 100 km/h acceleration took only 6 seconds. The top speed equalled 235 km/h. 8 litres of fuel were consumed per 100 km in the extra-urban cycle, 11 – in the combined and 14 – in the urban cycle.
This version was a 2-seater. Its loading capacity equalled 210 kg. Road clearance was 105 mm. Ventilated brake discs and 17-inch low-profile tyres were mounted on both vehicle axles.
