Technical specifications of Land Rover Freelander I (LN) convertibles
The dimensions varied depending on the version: the length was 4380–4433 mm, width 1805–1809 mm and height 1708–1760 mm. The ground clearance was 185–200 mm. The luggage compartment volume was 311–370 litres, and could be increased to 1194–1315 litres with the rear seats folded. The maximum loading capacity was 493–613 kg.
The front vehicle axle was equipped with brake discs. The rear axle was equipped with drum brakes.

Land Rover Freelander I (LN) convertibles were produced in six AWD versions. Petrol and diesel versions were available.
The 2.0 TD MT diesel version was quite popular. It was equipped with a 4-cylinder 16-valve in-line engine with a turbocharger and common-rail system. Several trim levels were marketed, such as S, Xi, Xdi, XEi, XE Di, ES, GS, Anniversary 50, Maasai, Maasai Mara, Kalahari and Serengeti. All Freelander I LN (1998–2006) convertibles had a factory-installed driver airbag and electric heated wing mirrors. The front windows were electric and the steering wheel adjustable.
The ES extended trim included ABS and a traction control system, air-conditioning, alloy wheel rims, an audio system with CD-changer and a front passenger airbag. The seats were trimmed with leather. Rails were installed on the roof.
