Land Rover Freelander II (LF) technical specifications
Initially the car body length was 4500 mm; width and height depended on the version and ranged from 1910 to 2180 mm and 1740 to 1765 mm respectively. The ground clearance was 210–220 mm. The luggage compartment volume was 755 litres and increased to 1670 litres with the rear seats folded.
The car body width increased to 2180–2195 mm after the first restyling. From 2012 it was 2005 mm. The other specifications remained the same.
From the start of production both axles of the off-roader was equipped with ventilated brake discs. After 2010 non-ventilated components were used on the rear axle.
Main versions
There were about ten versions of the Land Rover Freelander II (LF). AWD, FWD, petrol and diesel cars were produced.
The 2.2 SD4 AT diesel version was one of the most popular and fuel efficient. It was equipped with a 4-cylinder 16-valve in-line engine with a turbocharger and common-rail system. The engine output was 190 hp and maximum torque was 420 N·m at 1750 rpm. The car consumed 8.7 litres of fuel per 100 km in the urban cycle, 5.8 litres in the extra-urban cycle and 7 litres in the combined cycle. The car’s top speed was 190 km/h and acceleration was 0 to 100 km/h in 9.5 seconds.
Freelander II (LF) trim levels
Several trims of Freelander II LF (2006–2014) off-roaders were available, such as S, Black SE, Aspen LE, Black and White, GS, Sport LE, SE Tech, XS, HSE, Dynamic, HSE LUX, Metropolis and HST. All had factory-installed ABS, traction control, alloy wheel rims, climate control, front and side airbags, electric heated wing mirrors and electric windows.
The Metropolis extended version included an audio system with CD-player, cruise control, electrically adjustable front seats, an electric sunroof, front fog lights. It also came with headlight washers, heated seats with leather trimming, parking sensors, a satellite navigation system and a phone.
