Land Rover Defender (LD) pickup technical specifications
Before the restyling, body length, width and height were 4438 mm, 1790 mm and 2035 mm respectively. Ground clearance was 190 mm and the maximum loading capacity was 1383 kg.
The restyled car was 140 mm longer, while the height was reduced by 35 mm. Ground clearance increased to 250 mm, while the maximum loading capacity went down to 1020 kg. The other specifications remained unchanged. Both car axles were equipped with brake discs.
Main versions
Land Rover Defender (LD) pickups came in five AWD versions. Petrol and diesel versions were available.
The 2.2 TD MT diesel version was one of the most popular. It was equipped with a 4-cylinder 16-valve in-line engine with a turbocharger and common-rail system. The engine output was 122 hp and maximum torque was 360 N·m at 2000 rpm. Fuel consumption was 13.6 litres per 100 km in the urban cycle, 9.7 litres in the extra-urban cycle and 11.1 litres in the combined cycle. The top speed was 145 km/h and acceleration was 0–100 km/h in 15.8 seconds.
Defender (LD) pickup trim levels
The Defender LD (1995–2016) pickup was sold with base and extended trim levels, such as SE and X-Tech. The SE trim included air-conditioning, hydraulic power steering, an audio system with CD and MP3 support, heated front seats, central locking, an anti-theft system, anti-lock braking system and anti-skid system. There were also halogen headlights, tinted windows and steel wheel rims. The steering wheel was trimmed with leather.
