Technical characteristics of Ford Focus Mk1 DNW
Ford Focus estate (1999–2007) was 4438 mm long, 1702 mm wide, and 1447 mm high. This vehicle was a 5-seater and quite roomy inside. It was designed using computer-aided modelling that helped to make the best use of the interior space. The luggage compartment was also rather capacious: its volume varied from 520 to 1580 litres.
The road clearance of this vehicle reached 170 mm – this allowed the car to perform well on roads with a low-quality surface.
Main editions
32 versions of Focus Mk1 DNW cars were released in Europe during production years. Before the restyling in 2001, 11 petrol and 7 diesel versions were released, while after the restyling 8 petrol and 6 diesel versions were released.
One of the most powerful diesel versions was the 1.8 TDCi 115. It was equipped with a 4-cylinder 8-valve engine Duratorq DLD-418. Due to a turbocharger with variable geometry, intercooler and Common Rail fuel injection system, this power unit reached the torque of 250 N·m. The car accelerated to 100 km/h in 11 seconds. Its maximum speed was 196 km/h. Fuel consumption was 7.2 litres per 100 km in urban cycle, 4.4 litres in extra-urban cycle, 5.4 litres in combined cycle. Loading capacity of the version was 449 kg.
