Technical characteristics of Citroën Berlingo II (B9)
Citroën Berlingo II (B9) minivans were 4380 mm long, 1810 mm wide and 1801 mm high. Depending on the arrangement and number of seats, the luggage compartment capacity could be from 675 to 3000 litres. Road clearance was 140 mm.
The rear seats were separate. They could be removed if necessary. The front passenger seat had a folding back, which allowed transporting long objects in the car. On order, three seats could be installed on the front row. In the car’s interior, there were many pockets and compartments for storing small objects. Their total capacity was up to 170 litres.
The front suspension was independent with MacPherson struts, the rear – semi-independent with a deformable torsion beam. They provided an excellent combination of comfort and steerability. Brake discs were installed on all wheels.
The body could be 4- or 5-door. Usually, the rear door was lifting.
Main versions
About 20 versions of Citroën Berlingo II (B9) minivans were produced during the manufacturing years. They included diesel and petrol versions. As a rule, they had front-wheel drive, but there were also all-wheel-drive versions.
1.6 VTi MT ADW X-TR, an all-wheel-drive version, was powerful and dynamic. It featured a 120 hp 4-cylinder 16-valve petrol engine. Its max torque of 160 N⋅m was reached at 4250 rpm. The car accelerated to 100 km/h in 12 seconds. Its top speed reached 177 km/h. Fuel consumption in the urban cycle was 9.6 litres per 100 km, 6.0 litres – in the extra-urban cycle, 7.3 litres – in the combined cycle. Maximum loading capacity was 595 kg.
A 5-speed manual transmission and limited slip differential were installed on this version. The latter improved the vehicle’s performance on all road surface types.
Trim levels of Berlingo II (B9)
Citroën Berlingo II (B9) minivans were available in the following trim levels: Multispace, X-TR, Cinqspace, Dynamique, Tendance, Exclusive and others.
X-TR trim included variable power assisted steering, two-way adjustable steering column, an air conditioner with pollen filter, CD-player with 4 speakers and MP3 support, a trip computer, navigation system, 7-inch touchscreen, front and side airbags, rearview camera, emergency braking assist, automatically folding side mirrors and other equipment.
