Subaru Impreza III (GR, GH, G3) cars are 5-door hatchbacks that were produced from 2007 to 2011. However, WRX sports versions were manufactured till 2014. It debuted on the New York International Auto Show. In 2010 they won the “Top Safety Pick” award, which is annually granted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Some versions of this model were re-equipped into Google Maps Street View Car. A high-performance camera, which made panoramic images for service needs, was mounted on their roofs. Subaru Impreza III (GR, GH, G3) hatchbacks were presented in two body variants. The narrow ones with 1740 mm width were marked GH. The wide ones – with 1795 mm width – were marked GR. All the hatchbacks were 4415 mm long and 1475 mm high. The interior was five-seater. Depending on a rear seats configuration, the capacity of the luggage compartment varied from 301 to 1216 litres. Road clearance was 155 mm.
Both front and rear suspensions were independent and ensured excellent maneuverability, steerability and high comfort level while driving on poor-quality roads. All the wheels were equipped with brake discs.
Main versions
12 versions of Subaru Impreza III (GR, GH, G3) were produced during the years of manufacture: 10 with petrol and 2 with diesel power units. Most of them were all-wheel drive. However, front-wheel drive versions were available as well.
It was the first diesel engine available for this model. It had 2.0 litres capacity. In 2.0D AWD version, which was produced from 2009 to 2011, engine output reached 150 hp. The engine was equipped with turbocharger and intercooler, so its maximum torque of 350 N⋅m was reached at 1800 rpm. Acceleration to 100 km/h took 8.6 seconds. The top speed of the version was 205 km/h. Fuel consumption was low: 6.8 litres per 100 km in the urban cycle, 5.8 litres in the combined cycle and 5.2 litres in the extra-urban cycle. The carrying capacity was 535 kg. The car was equipped with 6-speed manual transmission.

Subaru Impreza III (GR, GH, G3) (2007–2014) cars were available in various trim packages, the most popular of which were Comfort, Luxury, Sport, XV, Executive and Executive Pro.
The car of Sport trim package was equipped with anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist, stability and traction control systems, front and side airbags, front and rear curtain airbags, hill start assist. The seats were sportive. The steering wheel was height and depth adjustable. Seats leather trimming could be ordered for an extra fee.
