The SEAT Marbella (28) is a 3-door hatchback that was produced between 1986 and 1998. It was the first car produced by the Spanish brand after collaboration with the Italian manufacturer Fiat ended. It won the reputation of being a reliable and inexpensive car. It was one of the most profitable models in the history of the Spanish manufacturer. SEAT Marbella (28) cars were 3480 mm long, 1460 mm wide and 1445 mm high. The cabin had five seats. The boot capacity ranged from 272–1088 litres depending on the rear seat configuration. The car was very light: only 680–720 kg, depending on the version.
The front suspension was independent with MacPherson struts; the rear dependent with leaf springs. Brake discs were installed on the vehicle front axle and drums on the rear.

Five versions of SEAT Marbella (28) were produced during the manufacturing period. All were equipped with petrol engines and had front-wheel drive. Transmission was 4- or 5-speed manual.
The 0.9 MT (41 hp) version was very popular. It was equipped with a 4-cylinder, 8-valve carburettor engine with 60 N⋅m maximum torque, reached at 2800 rpm. The car accelerated from 0-100 km/h in 19.2 seconds and its top speed was 135 km/h. At the same time, the average fuel consumption was only 6.6 litres of fuel per 100 km. The maximum loading capacity of this version was 440 kg.
