SEAT Cordoba I (6K, 6K1) technical specifications
SEAT Cordoba I (6K, 6K1) saloons were 4109 mm long, 1640 mm wide and 1414 mm high. It could seat five people. The boot capacity was 455 litres, and could be increased to 762 litres by folding down the rear seats.
The front suspension was independent with MacPherson struts; the rear suspension semi-independent with springs. This ensured an optimal combination of steerability, manoeuverability and comfort.
Brake discs were installed on the vehicle front axle; typically they were ventilated. The rear axle was usually equipped with drums, but in the powerful sport versions they also had disc brakes.
Main versions
More than 20 versions of SEAT Cordoba I (6K, 6K1) were produced during the manufacturing period. These included the cars with diesel and petrol engines. All of them were front-wheel-drive.
The 1.8 GTi-16V petrol version was one of the most powerful. It was equipped with a 4-cylinder 16-valve engine with multi-point fuel injection. It had an output of 129 hp and a torque of 162 N⋅m. This version went from 0-100 km/h in 9.1 seconds. Its top speed was 206 km/h. Average fuel consumption was 8.2 litres per 100 km in the combined cycle. The maximum loading capacity was 490 kg.
The version was equipped with 5-speed manual transmission. Brake discs were installed on both saloon axles. It also had factory-installed 14-inch alloy wheel rims.
Cordoba I (6K, 6K1) trim levels
Cordoba I (6K, 6K1) cars were available in the following trim levels: S, SE, SXE, CLX, GLX, GT, GTI, SX, Comfort and Exclusiv.
The equipment was typical of the time and included only necessary features. For instance, the GTi version, one of the highest trim levels, had an anti-lock braking system, driver airbag, height-adjustable driver seat, remote central locking, a trip computer, adjustable dashboard lighting, fog lights, an anti-theft system and heated electric wing mirrors. Air-conditioning, sunroof and passenger airbag were optional extras.
