Main versions
The range of available versions comprised petrol, diesel and even hybrid vans. The latter included, for example, the 311 CDI. This car combined a 109 hp diesel engine and a 70 kW electromotor. Availability of the latter allowed to reduce fuel consumption by 10–50%, depending on the driving style and load. The engines could operate simultaneously. The battery capacity was 14 Ah. It was sufficient for covering approximately 30 km distance running on electric power only. Nevertheless, presence of the battery unit and electromotor added 350 kg to the car weight.
After the restyling in 2001, all diesel versions were equipped with a turbocharger, which allowed to reduce fuel consumption and harmful emissions into the atmosphere. Moreover, the Sprintshift automatic gearbox with electronic control function was installed.
