The Jaguar S-Type technical specifications
Initially, the length, width and height of the body were 4,861, 1,819, and 1,444 mm respectively. The ride height reached 140 mm. The volume of luggage compartment was 400 liters; it could be increased up to 810 liters with the rear seats folded. Maximum payload of the vehicle did not exceed 493 kg.
After the third restyling, the length and width increased up to 4,905 and 2,060 mm respectively. Other parameters remained the same. Both axles of the car were equipped with ventilated brake discs.
Main versions
The Jaguar S-Type car was available in 11 rear-wheel-drive versions. The manufacturer offered both petrol and diesel saloons.
The petrol 4.2 АT model was characterised by good performance. It was equipped with a 32-valve V8 engine with multipoint fuel injection. Its output was 298 hp, the maximum torque was 411 N·m at 4,100 rpm. S-Type trim levels
Apart from the base trim, the manufacturer offered several extended ones. They included S, S Plus, Plus, Spirit, Luxury, SE, SE Plus, XS, R, Sport, Sport 200, Sport Plus, Executive.
The base equipment package of the S-Type saloons (1999–2008) included ABS and traction control systems, alloy wheel rims, climate control, front and side airbags. Side mirrors were heated.
The Luxury trim level had power driver’s seat, an audio system with a CD player, power side mirrors. Their seats were trimmed with leather.
