Hyundai Atos Prime (MX) are 5-door hatchbacks which were produced from 1999 to 2014 by the South Korean manufacturer, Hyundai Motor Company. In most countries official sales of these cars stopped in 2008. Despite compact sizes of the hatchback, it featured 5 seats. The cars was updated three times: in 2001, 2003 and 2004. Hyundai Atos Prime (MX) Specifications
Car dimensions vary depending on production year. Thus, body length of cars produced in 1999–2004 was 3495 mm, width – 1495 mm, height – 1615 mm. After the update of 2004, hatchback’s sizes were 3565, 1525 and 1570 mm respectively. Road clearance didn’t change from the start of production and equaled 160 mm. Volume of the luggage compartment reached 220–263 litres and could be increased to 889–1084 litres with folded rear seats. Car maximum loading capacity was 436 kg
Main versions
7 versions of the hatchback were produced. All of them were petrol and had front-wheel drive. Hyundai Atos Prime (MX) 1.1 AT cars were the most popular. They were equipped with 4-cylinder 12-valve engine of 63 hp output. Torque of the power unit was 97 N⋅m and was reached at 3000 rpm. Top speed of these cars was 139 km/h and it took them 15.8 seconds to accelerate to 100 km/h. This version was rather fuel-efficient. Only 5 litres of fuel was consumed for 100 km travel in extra-urban cycle, 6.1 litres – in combined cycle and 8 litres in urban cycle.
Trim levels of Atos Prime (MX)
Apart from base model, extended Comfort trim level was offered. List of standard equipment included only driver airbag and ABS. However, the car was considered one of the most reliable and safe vehicles of its time.
Comfort trim level included power windows and front passenger airbag. It also featured hydraulic power steering, power door locks and immobilizer.
