Technical specifications of Ford StreetKA RL2
The convertible was 3,650 mm long, 1,679 mm wide and 1,409 mm high. The luggage compartment capacity was only 214 litres. Road clearance equalled 140 mm. The car had a manually folding soft top – the most reliable design. A detachable hardtop could be ordered for an extra charge.
The front axle had independent MacPherson suspension. Its distinctive feature was wider than usual wishbones which provided excellent vehicle handling. The rear suspension was semi-independent. The car had disc brakes in front and drum brakes in the rear.
Main versions
All Ford StreetKA RL2 convertibles were equipped with 1.6L 95 hp engine Zetec Rocam with 4 cylinders and 8 valves. Its maximum torque equalled 135 N⋅m. It was reached at 4,250 rpm. The vehicle used a timing chain instead of a belt, which allowed extending the power unit servicing intervals. Port fuel injection system improved car dynamics and reduced fuel consumption. A 5-speed manual transmission was installed on all the cars.
The convertible accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in 12.1 seconds. Its top speed reached 173 km/h. Fuel consumption equalled 10.6 litres per 100 km in the urban cycle, 6.4 litres – in the extra-urban and 7.9 litres – in the combined cycle. On the average, cars equipped with air-conditioning consumed 0.3 litres more fuel. The loading capacity of the vehicle was only 224 kg.
Trim levels of StreetKA RL2
Two trim levels were offered for StreetKA RL2 convertibles. With the richer trim level, Elegance, the car had an air conditioner, CD-changer, anti-theft alarm, immobilizer, central locking with remote control, anti-lock braking system, and front airbags. The power side mirrors were heated. The seats were leather-trimmed and also had a heating function. The luggage compartment could be opened remotely.
