Technical specifications of Audi A5 (8F7)
The car was 4,625 mm long, 1,854 mm wide and 1,383 mm high. Due to large dimensions, the cabin of the convertible turned out to be spacious and its luggage compartment – capacious. Its capacity was usually 320 l but when the rear seats were folded, it could be increased up to 750 l. The ride height was 120 mm.
All the cars had a fabric roof which was retracted by pressing the button on the gear stick. It took only 15 seconds to retract and 17 seconds to raise the roof.
Main versions
There were 12 versions of the Audi A5 (8F7) convertible manufactured before the facelift of 2011: 8 petrol and 4 diesel ones. Later, from 2011 to 2017, 25 versions were made: 14 petrol and 11 diesel ones.
One of the latest versions was the 2.0 TFSI MT (230 hp) made in 2016. It was equipped with a 230 hp 16-valve 4-cylinder engine with the torque of 350 N⋅m which was achieved at the wide range of revolutions: from 1,500 to 4,200. High power could be felt both at low and high speeds. The car took 7.4 seconds to reach 100 km/h in and its maximum speed was 245 km/h. The payload capacity of the version did not exceed 400 kg. Instead, the fuel consumption was only 5.2 l on a highway, 6.3 l the in the mixed driving cycle and 8.1 l in an urban area. The fuel efficiency was provided by a turbocharger, direct fuel injection, the start/stop system which shuts down the engine in traffic jams, regenerative braking system and other innovative solutions.
Trim packages of the Audi A5 (8F7)
They offered several equipment packages for Audi A5 (8F7) convertibles apart from the standard one: Sport, Pro Line and Pro Line S. Even standard factory equipment included a great number of various systems: electric power steering, rain sensor, three-spoke sports steering wheel trimmed with leather, brand sound system, front and side airbags, ISOFIX child seat fasteners. The car electronics included electronic stability programme, parking sensors, auto hold assist and speed limiter. Chrome mouldings framing the windows, LED daytime running lights, aluminium door sill plates, 17-inch light alloy wheels were used in the exterior of the car as decorative elements. Silvery decorative inserts became a bright feature of the exterior.
