Hoses for auto

Hoses & Pipes auto parts: Hoses

Hoses of cooling system are necessary in the car for coolant supply. Due to the coolant the engine cools down and not overheats. Without a good cooling system the engine would overheat and break down. Water pump is responsible for coolant motion. If there is damage in hoses of cooling system, the coolant is supplied in a wrong way. If there is a hole, a part of coolant will flow out. This is an unmistakable sign of damage in cooling system.

If on the place of car parking remain marks of coolant, you need to check coolant state. You can solve the problem for some time if you regularly add the coolant. You may do this only in case when the hole is small. In any case you need to repair it because in many cases the size of damage increases. If the coolant flows out, the engine will overheat. In case when hoses of cooling system don’t fit tight or there is a hole in cooling system, the driver must watch temperature indicators while driving.

Substitution of hoses of cooling system requires accuracy. Think in what succession you will repair in order to install spare car parts to the right place. In order to fix the problem you need to put new hoses of cooling system into the hoses and to fasten them with the clamp. Make a full testing of hoses after you start to exploit them. In our shop you can also order other spare car parts. Here you can buy temperature sensors, wheel hub bearings, wheel caliper, starter, generator, air filter and many other parts for your car.

How to detect a faulty air filter connecting pipe

To check the air filter connecting pipe, it is better to remove it from the vehicle. Otherwise, you will not be able to properly assess the condition of the component. Inspect the part: cracks, breaks, reduced length of the component, and loosened fasteners indicate the need for replacement. If oil deposits are detected on the inner surface of the connecting pipe, thorough diagnostics of many vehicle systems will be required, which is best performed at a service station.

You may notice that the air filter connecting pipe needs diagnostics by the following symptoms:

  • premature clogging of the air filter;
  • unstable engine operation;
  • unstable idle speed;
  • increased fuel consumption;
  • traces of oil in the air filter;
  • reduced engine power;
  • accelerated oil contamination;
  • when driving, rattling sounds are heard, or whistle which increases when the accelerator pedal is pressed.

The reasons of air filter connecting pipe failure

Most faults of the air filter connecting pipe are caused by rather aggressive conditions of its operation. The component is located in the engine compartment, and is constantly exposed to aggressive chemical substances, dirt, and moisture. Temperature changes and extremely high temperatures also have negative effect on the component.

Over time, frequent driving on poor quality roads and strong vibrations may loosen the clamps and fasteners of the connecting pipe. This is rather dangerous: ingress of dirty air into the engine may result in premature wear of its components. Fouling of the air intake sleeve may also reduce the intervals of the air filter replacement.

Sometimes, faults of the pipeconnecting the air filter to the engine are due to excessive oil pressure in the crankcase, clogging of crankcase ventilation channels, or problems with the exhaust system. In this case, viscous oily deposits are formed on the inner surface of the component.

Repairing the air filter connecting pipe

In some cases, to remove the fault, it is sufficient to tighten the clamps and fasteners, or to clean the connecting pipe from soot deposits and dirt. However, if the component is disintegrated, it will have to be replaced, as operating the vehicle with damaged connecting pipe is not recommended.

Replacing the air filter connecting pipe

Usually, replacing the component does not cause any difficulties. All you need to do is to pull out the connector of the intake air temperature sensor, loosen and remove the fastening clamps of the connecting pipe, disconnect the bracket of the positive crankcase ventilation hose with pliers, and move it aside, then gently pull and dismantle the defective component, and install a new one.
