Main modifications
Between 2002 and 2014, the total of 46 modifications of XC90 I crossovers were released: 12 gasoline and 8 diesel modifications - before the restyling, and 14 gasoline and 12 diesel ones – after the restyling.
The most powerful and high speed was modification 4.4 Geartronic AWD. It had an 8-cylinder 32-valve engine that had been created in collaboration with the Yamaha Japanese corporation. Its maximum RPM was 5,850. The torque of 440 Nm was achieved at the RPM of about 3,900. Due to this, the crossover developed 315 hp, accelerated to 100 km/h in as little as 7.3 seconds, and its maximum speed was 210 km/h. The payload of the vehicle was 693 kg.
By 2010, production of this modification was gradually stopped, as the Swedish company aimed at creating fuel-efficient cars. And the 4.4 Geartronic AWD was not consistent with the new concept: fuel consumption in the city could reach 20 liters, with 13.5 liters in the combined cycle, and 9.8 l in the highway.
