VOLVO V70 I (LV, 875, 876) cars: technical specifications, versions and trim levels
Volvo V70 I LV vehicles belong to the first generation of five-door business class estate cars, which debuted in 1996. Their production continued until 2000. The model was based on the Volvo 850 estate, and was popular in France, Sweden, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Norway, and other European countries, as well as in the United States. These vehicles were used as cabs and police vehicles. These cars differed from the standard estate cars by the trim level and more efficient brake system that featured, in particular, brake pads with wear indicator. Main modifications
Over the years of production, the total of over 25 modifications of Volvo V70 I LV have been released, of which there were two gasoline XC versions for off-road estate cars, and 5 gasoline V70 R ones for sports modifications.
The most powerful and dynamic modifications were those of the R series. These vehicles were equipped with gasoline engines, and could have full drive or front wheel drive. For example, all-wheel drive modification 2.4 T AT AWD showed excellent dynamics. The engine of this estate car developed the power of 265 hp. Its maximum torque of 350 Nm was achieved at the medium rpm of about 2,400. Acceleration to 100 km/h took 7.4 seconds only, and the top speed reached 245 km/h. This became possible thanks to double turbocharger, a Multipoint injection system, and the all-wheel drive (AWD). The torque split ratio was varied automatically, depending on the road conditions and the driving style. The payload of the modification was 507 kg.
