Technical specifications of Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 90 (J90)
Initially, the dimensions of the 3-door car were the following: the length – 4,240 mm, the width – 1,820 mm, the height – 1,880 mm. The restyled SUV became 15 mm longer. The length of the 5-door vehicle before the restyling was 4,675 mm, after it – 4,900 mm. The width and the height were the same as those of the 3-door car and didn’t change during the whole production period. The road clearance was 230 mm. The luggage compartment volume varied from 450 litres to 1,150 litres, depending on the version. Ventilated brake discs were installed on both axles.
Main versions
In total, 8 versions of Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 90 (J90) cars were produced. They included both diesel and petrol ones. All cars were AWD.
The 3.4 MT petrol version was the most powerful. It was equipped with a V6 24-valve power unit. Its output was 185 hp, the maximum torque – 303 Nm at 3,600 rpm. The top speed of the SUV was 180 km/h. It accelerated to 100 km/h in 10.9 seconds. The car consumed 17.6 litres in urban cycle, 11.1 litres in extra-urban cycle.
Trim levels of Land Cruiser Prado 90 (J90)
There were several trims such as STD, LX, FX, GX, VX, TJ, TS, RJ, RS, RX, RZ, RV, GXL, VX Grande, Challenger. The basic STD trim level of the Land Cruiser Prado 90 (1996–2002) included an ABS, an air conditioner, an additional glove box. The cars had 2 fuel tanks. The interior was trimmed with artificial leather. An audio system, metal bull bars for protection of the bumpers and headlights, running boards for convenient getting in and roof rails were offered for an additional charge.
The highest trim level VX R2 included power windows, power mirrors, the central lock, immobilizer. Besides, there were front airbags.
