Technical specifications of Suzuki SX4 I (EY, GY)
Suzuki SX4 I (EY, GY) front-wheel drive hatchbacks were 4100 mm long, 1730 mm wide and 1565 mm high. The car was five-seater. Volume of the luggage compartment was 270 litres but it could be increased up to 625 litres with the rear seats folded. Road clearance was rather high – 165 mm.
The four-wheel-drive versions slightly varied in size. Their length, height and width were 4100 mm, 1755 mm and 1620 mm respectively. Road clearance was 175–190 mm. Moreover, these cars had reinforced body frame.
The front suspension was independent, the rear – semi-independent. Initially, brake discs were installed on the front axle only. The rear axle was equipped with brake drums. After the restyling in 2013, all wheels were equipped with disc brakes.
Main versions
About 20 versions of Suzuki SX4 I (EY, GY) hatchbacks were produced for all the time. They were equipped with petrol and diesel power units. The cars had front- or four-wheel drive. There were 4-speed automatic, 5- and 6-speed manual transmissions available.
1.9 Diesel 4Grip version was the most powerful. It was equipped with 4-cylinder 8-valve turbocharged engine with Common Rail fuel injection system. Output of the power unit equaled 120 hp. Maximum torque – 280 N⋅m. The car accelerated to 100 km/h in 11.2 seconds. Its top speed was 180 km/h. Maximum loading capacity was 495 kg. Average fuel consumption was 6.6 litres in the combined cycle, 5.7 litres in the extra-urban cycle and 8.1 litres in the urban cycle. The electronically controlled all-wheel drive system operated in three modes.

The car was rich in features. Even in the lowest Base trim, the car was equipped with anti-lock braking system with brakeforce distribution, brake assist, front and side airbags, power steering.
