Subaru XV (GP) technical specifications
Subaru XV (GP) crossovers were 4450 mm long, 1780 mm wide and 1570 mm high. The interior was spacious enough to accommodate a driver and 4 passengers. Depending on a rear seats configuration, the volume of the luggage compartment could have 380–1270 litres. Road clearance was 220 mm.
Both suspensions were independent: the front was of the MacPherson type, and the rear – of the double wishbone type. Both front and rear wheels were equipped with brake discs.
Main versions
5 versions of Subaru XV (GP) were produced during the years of manufacture, including those equipped with diesel, petrol and hybrid power units. All of them had all-wheel drive. They could be equipped with 6- or 5-speed manual gearbox or stepless Lineartronic transmission.
2.0i Lineartronic petrol version had balanced characteristics. It was equipped with 4-cylinder 16-valve boxer engine with multi-point fuel injection; it developed 150 hp output and had 196 N⋅m torque. The crossover accelerated to 100 km/h in 10.7 seconds. Its top speed was 187 km/h. Fuel consumption was 8.6 litres per 100 km in the urban cycle, 6.6 litres in the combined cycle and 5.5 litres in the extra-urban cycle. Maximum loading capacity was 585 kg.
Usage of a chain to transfer the torque between the gearbox pulleys allowed to increase the gearbox efficiency by 5%. All-wheel-drive system was based on the multi-plate clutch with electronic control. In normal conditions, torque was distributed between the front and the rear axle in 60/40 ratio.
XV (GP) trim levels
The crossovers were available in Comfort, Executive, Luxury, Luxury Plus. Intro, Nagano, Premium, Business Edition and other trim levels.
The Luxury Plus trim was one of the most richly equipped trims and included anti-lock braking system with brakeforce distribution and braking assist, systems of stability and traction control, front and side airbags, front and rear curtain airbags and a driver’s knee airbag. The front seats were heated. The rear ones were equipped with headrests. The steering wheel was trimmed with leather and was height and depth adjustable. Moreover, all the crossovers were equipped with climate control, navigation system with multifunctional colour display, audio system with control buttons mounted on the steering wheel and a rear view camera. The windscreen wiper blades and headlights turned on automatically upon the signals received from the corresponding sensors.
