The dimensions of the car body were the following: length – 3,427 mm, width – 1,615 mm, height – 1192–1207 mm. The boot capacity varied from 104 to 145 l. The maximum load capacity reached 240 kg.
The front axle of the vehicle was fitted with brake discs. The rear axle was equipped with drum brakes.
Main versions
The Smart Roadster targa (452) was offered in three petrol versions. They all had a rear-wheel drive.
The most powerful 0.7 АМТ version was equipped with a semi-automatic transmission and a 3-cylinder, 6-valve straight engine with a turbocharger and a multi-point fuel injection system. The power unit produced 101 hp with a maximum torque of 130 N·m at 2,250 RPM. The fuel consumption per 100 km was 6.4 l in the urban cycle, 4.5 l in the extra-urban cycle and 5.2 l in the combined cycle. The top speed of the car reached 190 kph. Apart from the base trim of the Smart Roadster targa (452), there were offered several extended ones such as Light, Speedsilver, Finale, Bluewave, Brabus. All cars were factory-equipped with ABS and traction control, remote locking system, front airbags and power windows.
The Brabus trim level included air conditioning, alloy wheels, an audio system with a CD-player, heated power side mirrors, front fog lights, side airbags. There were also sports heated leather-trimmed seats.
