The Smart Forfour I (454): specifications
The body was 3,752 mm long, 1,684 mm wide and 1,450 mm high. The luggage compartment volume was 268 l. The maximum payload capacity was 510 kg. The road clearance reached 131 mm.
The car featured front independent MacPherson strut and semi-independent torsion-beam rear suspension. The front axle of the Smart Forfour I (454) hatchback was equipped with ventilated brake discs. The rear one could be fitted either with discs or with drum brakes.
Main versions

Forfour I (454) trim levels
Apart from the Pure base trim, there were the following extended ones: Black Edition, Purestyle, Passion Coolstyle, Brabus. The factory-installed range of equipment of the Smart Forfour I hatchbacks (454; 2004–2006) included a car alarm, front and side airbags and traction control system. There were front power windows and adjustable steering wheel.
The Brabus extended trim included air conditioning, front fog lights. The cars also had rear power windows, electric heated door mirrors, alloy wheels. Heated sports seats with lumbar support were trimmed with leather. There was an audio system with remote control.
