Technical characteristics of Škoda Yeti (5L)

Škoda Yeti (5L) crossover was 4223 mm long, 1793 mm wide and 1691 mm high. Depending on the arrangement of the rear seats, the luggage compartment capacity equalled 405–1760 litres. Road clearance reached 180 mm.

Despite rather compact dimensions, the car was very spacious inside. The brand system of seat folding, Vario Flex, allowed arranging the interior with maximum comfort. All the rear seats were separate and easily-removable. The side ones could be moved towards the car centre after removing the middle seat. Moreover, they could slide fore and aft. The back of the front passenger seat folded forward, which allowed transporting long objects.

Both suspensions were independent. Stabilizer bars were installed on the front and rear axles. All wheels were equipped with brake discs.

Main versions

About 20 versions of Škoda Yeti (5L) (2009–2017) were produced over the years. They were front- and four-wheel-drive.

The latter included the diesel version 2.0 TDI 170 hp 4x4. Its 4-cylinder 16-valve engine reached the peak torque of 350 N·m at 1750 rpm. Acceleration to 100 km/h took 8.4 seconds. Top speed of this version was 201 km/h. Turbocharger and Common Rail fuel injection system ensured excellent dynamics and improved fuel efficiency. To overcome 100 km, the car consumed 5.3 litres of fuel in the extra-urban cycle, 6.9 litres – in the urban cycle and 5.9 litres – in the combined cycle. The loading capacity of this version equalled 645 kg.

The all-wheel-drive system used Haldex coupling with electronic control. In regular driving mode, about 10% of the torque was transmitted to the rear axle but this value increased when it was necessary.

Depending on the market and production year, Yeti (5L) crossovers were available in the following trim levels: Experience, Ambition, Track, Active, E, S, SE, SE Plus, Elegance and others.

The cars could be equipped with 9 airbags, adaptive bi-xenon headlights, automatic parking assist, electrically-adjustable seats and mirrors. Rearview camera, turned on by switching to reverse gear, was installed on crossovers of the most recent production years.
