Technical characteristics of Škoda Superb I (3U4)
Škoda Superb I (3U4) saloons were 4803 mm long, 1765 mm wide and 1469 mm high. Initially, the rear seats were not folding, that is why the capacity of the luggage compartment was 462 litres. But the cars produced after 2004 had folding rear seats allowing to increase the luggage compartment capacity to 945 litres. Road clearance was 148 mm.
Both suspensions were independent: the front one was MacPherson-type, the rear – multi-link. This vehicle had vented brake discs on the front axle and solid discs – in the rear.
The interior was quite roomy. There was plenty of space on the rear seats. Designers used many clever solutions to make this car more comfortable. For instance, there was a compartment for an umbrella in the rear left door armrest. The front seat back could easily be transformed into footrest for the rear passenger.
